EABF 2020 - Start-up Online Pitching Session
The European Commission is inviting a total of 12 start-ups (6 African and 6 European to pitch online during the 7th EU-Africa Business Forum, on Monday 26 October 2020. They will have the opportunity to showcase their services and technology to investors and decision makers. Deadline for submissions is the 25 of September, 24:00h CET
All start-ups using technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Virtual Realty (VR), IoT, robotics or others are invited to apply, though we would especially like to see start-ups currently focused on responding to this COVID-19 crisis from the following areas: Healthcare, Education, eGovernment, Agriculture and Mobility.
Is the start-up clearly solving an important or a very big problem? Is it a “me too” copy of an existing start-up?
III. SCALE AND IMPACT
- Are you ready to scale up in EU or Africa?
- Is there a large, growing market to play in?
- Do you already have a well-tested/functioning solution?
- Is the solution a potential “category winner”?
- What traction has been achieved to date?
- Do you already have investors?
- Had you received a prize?
IV. GEOGRAPHICAL BALANCE
The selection committee will ensure that selected start-ups will come from various African and EU countries. Start-ups have the option to submit their application in their preference language (FR/EN)
Your submission will be evaluated by a selection Committee including representatives of European Commission, and African Union. The application involves also a pitch deck of max. 10 MB
The winners will be announced at the beginning of October 2020. The list of selected companies will be included on the EABF 2020 website and disseminated broadly on social media.
