Associate Director, Head of EU Green Finance, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

Stefania Racolta-Cruceru joined the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in 2006, and now heads up the department focused on energy efficiency and climate change. In her most recent role, she is in charge of the relationship with European Union institutions and bilateral donors on green financing instruments. When she first joined the bank, she worked on the design and implementation of several sustainable energy finance facilities, and later went on to oversee her team’s new product and business development activities. Prior to joining EBRD, Ms Racolta-Cruceru was the head of liaison with financial institutions under the UN/GEF’s (UN Development Programme’s Global Environmental Finance) energy efficiency programme in Romania. Her career spans various roles in the trade finance, credit risk and corporate finance. Ms Racolta-Cruceru is a graduate of the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.
