Ibrahima Cheikh Diong

Founder & CEO, Africa Consulting and Trading

Ibrahima Cheikh Diong has over 26 years of professional experience in Africa and around the world. He is founder and chief executive officer of the Dakar-based pan-African advisory firm, Africa Consulting and Trading (ACT), which provides both business and strategic advisory, investment banking and financial/commercial intermediary support to public and private clients across Africa.
Prior to joining ACT, Mr Diong held a number of senior positions in national and international organisations including as a senior Africa adviser of BNP Paribas, as minister and special adviser to the Republic of Senegal’s president and chairman of the board of Senegal’s privately owned national airline to name but a few.
He has also worked as an associate at the US-based international consulting firm, Booz Allen and Hamilton (BAH). At the Dakar-based Pan-African Agency for Research and Consulting he managed the environment unit, and the water department for the African Network for Integrated Development. In addition, he is the founder and MD of Africa Consulting in Taiwan.
Mr Diong has a masters’ degree in international affairs, specialised in public policy, international finance and environment policy management, from the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University in New York. A sought after speaker/moderator/facilitator on Africa-related conference circuit, he is fluent in English, French, Mandarin Chinese and Wolof, and has a working knowledge of Portuguese.
