Director, Infrastructure & Urban Development, African Development Bank

As director of infrastructure and urban development at the African Development Bank in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Amadou Omarou is responsible for over 120 projects. Involving ports, railways, highways, airports and telecommunications across the continent, these projects have lending commitments to the tune of $11bn. 


Prior to joining the bank, Mr Oumarou spent ten years in the US as an engineering consultant. He has also worked in various governmental roles in the field of infrastructure and urban development. 


Educated in the US, Mr Oumarou holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University.
