The Government of Côte d’Ivoire, the European Union and the African Union welcomed participants to the 6th EU-Africa Business Forum, which brought together public and private sector representatives from both continents to address joint priorities under the main theme of “Investing in Job Creation for Youth.” High level representatives from the African Union and the European Union outlined their ambitions for the day, specifically the challenges and opportunities in enhancing job-creating sustainable investments in Africa along strategic priorities such as renewable energy, agriculture and the digital economy. The addresses emphasised links with the European External Investment Plan and its Investment windows, which aim to enhance sustainable investment flows towards Africa and optimise inclusive job creation.

The African Union was represented by Commissioner for Economic Affairs Victor Harrison, the European Union was represented by Vice President Andrus Ansip, the business community was represented by Mr. Albert Yuma, President of Business Africa, while the host country was represented by the Vice President of Côte d’Ivoire H.E. Daniel Kablan Duncan.
